Violinist Daniel Kellar has extensive performing, recording, and touring experience in all idioms of contemporary music.
He has shared the stage with an array of artists including Rick Danko of The Band, John Cale, Buddy and Julie Miller, Jim Kweskin, Pat Metheny, the Nashville Brass, Sleepy La Beef, Commander Cody, Boots Randolph, David Bromberg, Howard Armstrong, Floyd Cramer, Ray Price and Laura Cantrell.
As a member of various bands he has opened for artists such as Eric Burden, Vassar Clements, Joe Cocker, Sam Bush, Devo, Brian Setzer, The Court Yard Hounds, Chris Issak, Patty Griffin, Emmy Lou Harris, and Joe Ely, as well as the US tour of Robert Plant's Strange Sensation band with the Tarbox Ramblers.
Recordings include "Tarbox Ramblers" and "A Fix Back East" with the Tarbox Ramblers on Rounder Records, "Boundry County" and "Letters to Sinners and Strangers" with the Eilen Jewell Band on Signature Sounds, and "The Sacred Shakers" and "Sacred Shakers Live" also on Signature Sounds. Daniel also recorded the strings on the soundtrack of director George Romero's "Martin" soundtrack which is part of the Museum of Modern Arts permanent collection of classic horror films.
Over the past year, Daniel has been focusing on arranging as well as composing music for his own ensembles.
